Cadila began in 1951, when Indravadan A. Modi founded Cadila Laboratories to make healthcare accessible at an affordable cost.

In 1995, his son Dr. Rajiv I. Modi restructured the company as Cadila Pharmaceuticals, which he leads today as Chairman and Managing Director.
